How to purchase Sun Brothers artwork
draw sale & auction for exhibited works
How the sale works
All times USA Mountain Time (MT)
IN-PERSON Buyers
Each person who attends the June 27 opening will receive one complimentary set of “ballots” upon request with a buyer number. These include one unique ballot for each artwork that will be sold via fixed-price “luck of the draw” (lots 4 through 19) plus secret-bid ballots for the three works being sold in that fashion (lots 1, 2, and 3).
Until 5:45 p.m. at the opening reception, you may place the ballots for any draw sale works you wish to purchase into the corresponding ballot boxes adjacent to each artwork.
You may enter the drawings for multiple artworks but may only put in one ballot per draw-sale artwork.
If you decide to increase your secret bid for any of those works, you may place another bid ballot before the deadline.
Each ballot used signifies intent to purchase.
remote buyers
You do not need to be present at the reception to have a chance to purchase artwork. Until June 26 at 5:00 p.m. Mountain Time, you may buy a remote/absentee ballot set for $25. Limit one set per person. See button at bottom of this page to add a set to your purchase cart.
At your direction (via an online form), a proxy will place ballots and/or secret bids on your behalf. When you purchase a set of ballots, you will be required to supply your credit card information in case your name is drawn. You will not be charged unless you win a draw.
the draw and auction
The drawing will take place beginning at 6:00 p.m. MT on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Couse-Sharp Historic Site in Taos.
At the same time, the secret-bid ballots will be reviewed and the highest bid will win for each of those three artworks. If there are multiple bids that are the same, those ballots will be placed in the drawing vessel and the winner drawn from the vessel.
If your name is drawn for multiple artworks, you are obligated to purchase all of them. Once a winning buyer is declared, the artwork is considered sold, and all sales are final.
contingent 2nd draw round
In the event that some artworks do not sell in the first draw sale round, those in attendance will have the chance to place ballots from their set in a second round. In the event that any artworks remain after the second round, they will become available to online purchasers on July 1 at 9:00 a.m. MT; first email to request a particular artwork after that time will be awarded the right to purchase.
payment
Cashiers will be available at the draw sale on June 27 to receive cash, check, PayPal, and credit card payments from attendee buyers.
Credit card and PayPal payments will incur a 3% fee.
Remote participants will be notified within 24 hours if they have won their desired artwork. You will be asked to authorize your credit card on file for the purchase price OR a 10% deposit if you prefer to mail a check for the balance to save fees.
pickup and shipping
Shipping or pickup will be arranged with all buyers, in attendance or remote, before exhibition closing date. The exhibition will be on view to the public through November 15, 2025. Artwork may be picked up beginning November 17 or will be shipped. If you wish to have your purchase shipped, it will be your financial responsibility. Couse-Sharp Historic Site staff will arrange with you after your purchase for packing/crating and shipping through the method and carrier you choose, subject to availability.
